week six and seven: 1.17-1.22

Geez, I don't even have time to make a new banner. We're stuck with Julie and Matt for another week. I am the worst mod ever, LOL.

I know it's holidays time and stuff, I thought I'd leave last week's discussion post open. But in order to not "lose" another week, this is the post for the last three episodes of S1. Which are all kinds of awesome if you ask me.

· 1.20 - Mud Bowl
· 1.21 - Best laid plans
· 1.22 - State

I am about to leave and I'll be back on Saturday. I might be able to check the community, but I won't write my comments till Sat. And I haven't even re-watched all the episodes yet, so the list of topics may be incomplete. Feel free to add. :)

- Tyra and her attack.
- The coach leaving, Tami being pregnant and her and Julie staying in Dillon. Right choices, y/n? The team's reaction to the news.
- We won Stateeee! Did you think they would win? How about after the pilot, did you think they had any chance?
- I am 100% sure that the other characters have awesome story-lines, but I can't remember them to save my life. Uhm, Lyla being agry at her father and Jason? Her and Tyra talking without insulting each other at the end? Landry and Tyra? Jackie realizing doing a 17-year-old might not be the best choice? Uhm, Tim and Tyra trying to be friends? And Smash and Matt must be doing something, but I just can't remember ^^;
- Oh yeah, which game did you like better, mud bowl or state?

Fanfictions and fanworks for week 6 and 7 can be posted here. I'll post the recap entry once I'm back. :)

"You know Buddy Garrity's head's gonna explode! I love it!" How much do I love the way Coach swats that insect/fly of the other guy when they're discussing the stadium. :)

Tami is helped to sell tickets by grandma Saracen. ♥ The game itself I love. Although, the way it switches between Tyra and the game in so spine-tingling.I love Matt and Julie's tackle hug in the rain - so CUTE!

Very convenient train derailment. These things do happen though, I suppose. Normally, it's people stealing cable where I live!

"I might not have a PhD. in stupid like you do, but I'm gonna tell you right now that this is going to end badly." Aw, Billy. You're spot on there!

This episode contains two of my favourite Lyla moments, it's great how this show gets you liking characters you never expected to. I even cared about Smash/Waverly this episode.

And, lastly, who knew cow pastures could bring about miracles you've been wanting these past 13 years. And we learnt where Coach's blanket rant stems from! Me loves that entire scene, and the Cow randomly charging at Connie! HA!

"The cows are more supportive than you are."

It was lovely to see Street teaching Matt, Street really was the 'good man' that Coach commented upon in Eyes Wide Open with the lawsuit.

Best Laid Plans

Tyra, Landry, Tami scenes - heartbreaking. One thing that bothered me was Tyra walking out and finding Landry. I knew in the name of script convenience they needed Tami to leave - soemthing I don't think Tami would have done..

Coach being all grouchy in the morning. ♥

They really make you pay your traffic tickets in Dillon?!

Oh, Coach. You really should have listened To Tami when it comes to accepting the job. The scene where Coach comes in saying he'll take them to dinner is one of the few moments I could scream at him! I love Coach but not there!

"I respect you. I am proud of you. I am in love with you completely." Tami is one strong women, I think I would have melted in that scene. It's a great display of intimacy with their wedding rings on display.

Give Mama Smash and Tami more scenes together! The whole scene at Plannned Parenthood is just perfect, as is Tami trying to find the right moment to tell Coach.

Grandma and Tyra in the car, "You bring the booze?" ♥ Poor Landry, though! He does sort of deserve it for making Grandma Saracen originally take the bus.

"I have dreams, too" Aw, Coach echoing Julie in 1x19. The balcony scene is just beautiful. Although, I was intrigued to know whether they told Julie there and then. She was in the hotel room at the time, I think if I saw my parents acting so emotionally as a teen, I'd definitely be full of questions. It's a scene I have watched an unhealthy amount of times!

The game itself is very exciting, another huge comeback by the panthers. I'm sure if I actually understand the rules, I might be a little more bothered by this last minute scores.

"Every man at some point in his life is going to lose a battle. He is going to fight and he is going to lose. But what makes him a man is at the midst of that battle he does not lose himself. This game is not over, this battle is not over." Coach has the knack of producing inspiring speeches at the right time!

Tami stands on Coach's feet. Aw, so adorable. I love the little things about this show so much! It was defintely interesting how they left it open, would Coach be going or not.

Of the games, Mudbowl is my favourite. I do however love the Matt and Coach hug after the State game. Coach's father figure relationship with Matt was my favourite and I wish we'd had more of the same in the next two seasons.

yay for State win, they couldn't have not win though. I mean to leave open the possibilty of Coach remaining in Dillon, they had to win.

What an amazing first season though, definitely up there with my favourite first seasons of all time.
